The container approaches the gates.

A label is dispensed across the conveyor, held in place by the vacuum gates.

The container makes contact with the dispensed label.

The conveyor propels the container through  the vacuum gates.

The gates open allowing the container to proceed down  the conveyor and wiping the applied label.
